Hoshicon Inc. is a small business (acting as a non - profit) that is now dedicated to creating anime conventions and small events in the area of North Carolina.    We hope in the near future to become a non - profit organization that helps the community with various educational and scholarship programs to those interested in Southeast Asian culture in their continuing studies and academic careers.

Our mission is to educate the community and celebrate Southeast Asian in North Carolina and the United States.

Please don't be alarmed about this though.  This encompasses Japanese Animation, culture, and language and also includes other countries such as Korea, Taiwan, China, and much more.  We also deal heavily with American and worldwide pop culture.  We believe that there is no limits to the influence of Southeast Asian culture has in the United States and many other countries worldwide.  Also, we believe that the United States has a heavy influence on the culture as well.

For three days each summer, Hoshicon, Inc. will promote Southeast Asian culture by celebrating the world of Japanese Animation and Manga.  We will provide an event in the North Carolina region that will bring together people who enjoy Japanese Animation and Culture.  We hope to bring a family – friendly festival atmosphere to all of our attendees by hosting various events, panels, contests, vendors, artists, and more.  We believe that the community will have a greater cultural understanding and appreciation for Southeast Asian culture.

Our organization believes in helping the community first.  We wish to educate our community about Southeast Asian culture first and foremost.  We also believe in understanding the needs of our attendees and ethically handling each and every situation.  We wish to provide high customer service and satisfaction.  Our organization believes that we need to treat each and every person with the respect they may possibly need and to treat each situation with all fairness.  We believe by doing this that we are able to bring back attendees for years to come and to provide a stable and friendly work environment for staff members.

Originally, we started out as a small college club at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  We were the original creators of the first UNCC JAMS Spring Expo and Hoshicon.  You may find more information about our history if you go to our History page located on our website.
